 | Founded in 1961, Linden Hill School is the nation’s oldest junior boarding school for language based learning differences. The Summer Program evolved out of summers "off campus" at founders George & Penny Hayes’ cabin in Maine. Mr. Hayes often tutored children to improve their academic skills and prevent summer regression as well as provide a camp-like experience.
Today, the Linden Hill School Summer Program celebrates over ten years of giving participants expert academic support and encouragement as well as a positive and fulfilling camp experience. Making full use of our beautiful New England hillside campus, the boys and girls who join us during July each year enjoy our hundreds of acres of fields, woods, ponds and streams, as well as our comfortable dormitory lodging and healthy and delicious home-cooked meals.
The Linden Hill Summer Program provides a balance of academic work and traditional camp experiences. Support and remediation is offered through a multi-sensory approach to language training based in the renowned and clinically-proven Orton-Gillingham method. Honesty, integrity and pride in their success are goals for each of our participants.
