Spring is Coming to the Hill!

Finally some relief from winter brought not only rain and warmer temperatures but the melting of snow.  The cold nights remain but warmer days are here.  This is the perfect recipe for SUGARING TIME! As is the time honored Linden Hill tradition the boys tapped the trees and began collecting sap earlier in the week.

The first boil was bottled and ready just in time for Pinewood Derby Day, another sign of spring on the hill! For two weeks the boys crafted their pinewood derby cars, following specifications and rules on size and weight. Some boys built cars for speed, others for appearance, craftsmanship, or originality. Clancy's car, complete with the Boston Red Sox "B", zipped down the track to take 1st place in the speed competition. Zayd's car depicting an art robber stealing a painting took the appearance prize. Blaine's replica of a billiards table came away with the craftsmanship trophy and Jack's taco, looking good enough to eat, won for originality.  All of the boys did a wonderful job and it was nice to have families on campus to share in the event before heading off to a well deserved spring break!
