Well race fans it's ski racing time again!!!

The Lynx racing team consisting of Zayd, Nick, Will, Desmond and Chris competed Wednesday, January 19,2011 in the first race of the year held at Berkshire East Ski Resort.  This year's team only has two racers that raced before, so other three were a little nervous.  Nick raced once last year and so this was really only his second time racing for the Lynx.   This year Linden Hill is racing against the following teams – Eaglebrook, Bement, Mohawk High School, Deerfield Academy and Williston.  All of these teams practice twice a week and have skiers on their programs that all they do in the winter is ski and practice for races.  Since this is more of a recreational event for us just to compete and have fun is awesome.

Out of 30 Skiers we had 3 out of our 5 place in the top 18!  With Zayd placing 10^th only 3 seconds behind the 1^st place racer, Will came in second for the team coming in 15^th only 6 seconds behind the 1^st place racer and Nick coming in 18^th!! Desmond did awesome and so did Chris!! Now take into consideration too that Chris is a snowboarder by choice but has skied before and this was his first time on skis in 6 years!

Our next race is Wednesday, January 26!  The team will try and get some time down the course this weekend at Berkshire East.  They will only get better.  The Lynx race team scored 61 points and were only 9 points out of 4^th place! GO LYNX!!!
